The Doctrine of Unconditional Election describes the process by which God, himself, elects certain people to salvation. God does this based on His own will and purposes. It is “unconditional” because man does not have to meet certain conditions in order to be elected to salvation. God has mercy on whom He has mercy.

The Word of the Day – TULIP (Total Depravity)
Total Depravity is the first point in the TULIP. According to this Doctrine of Grace, mankind does not have the ability to chose God on our own. Because we are dead in our sin, we lack the ability to respond to God. It is human nature to love the darkness and hate the light. In order for anyone to be saved, God must first act and give us the ability to choose him.
